HISTORY: A Family Business

Indusco Environmental was founded in the mid-1970s by Edgar Vaughan in Birmingham, Alabama. Edgar, drawing on his prior experience with American Air Filter and Fly Ash Arrestor Corporation, established a company that would prioritize high-performance equipment and long-term customer value. His vision was to create an air pollution control company that industrial and municipal customers could rely on for decades.

As the company grew, Edgar’s son Dan Vaughan took the reins in 1982. With a background in industrial sales, Dan expanded the company’s reach and maintained its reputation for providing dependable, competitively priced solutions. From paper mills in Alabama to water treatment facilities as far away as Egypt, customers turned to Indusco for custom-engineered solutions that met the most demanding technical and environmental standards.

In 2020, the next generation joined the leadership team. Mike Thompson, Edgar’s son-in-law, came onboard with a background in engineering and executive leadership, having previously served as Global Executive Vice President at Siemens and CEO of Siemens and CEO for DENIOS North America. Mike now leads Indusco Environmental into its next phase, continuing the company’s legacy as a forward-thinking air pollution control company that puts customer success at the center of everything we do.
